Fact

Newschecker ran a reverse image search, which led us to the same picture in stock photography agency Alamy’s website, dated August 22, 2013. “Dead children lie on the ground as Syrian rebels claim they were killed in a toxic gas attack by pro-government forces in eastern Ghouta, on the outskirts of Damascus in Syria on August 21, 2013. The Syrian government has denied the claims from the opposition that it has used chemical weapons. The UN is investigating,” read the caption.

A further search led us to multiple media reports stating that the photo shows children killed by chemical weapons poisoning in Ghouta, Syria, in August 2013, seen here, here, here and here, confirming that it is not related to the 2023 October Israel-Hamas conflict.
