We received this claim on our Whatsapp tipline (9999499044), too, requesting us to fact-check it.
Fact
Newschecker noticed the overly glossy texture of the photo, indicating that it may be AI-generated. We then ran the image past Hive Moderation, an AI-image detection tool, which found it 84.6% likely to contain AI-generated or deepfake content.
We also ran the image past Fake Image Detector, which found it to be computer-generated, while the WasitAI tool said that it was quite confident that the image, or a significant part of it, was created by AI.
