Fact

We conducted Google reverse image searches on the keyframes of the viral video which led us to a video uploaded on the YouTube channel of Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology on November 15, 2021 with the caption, ‘Mr. Rajeev Vederah , Chairman | 35th Convocation Thapar Institute,’ featuring the same man who is being identified as a Supreme Court judge in the viral video. However, he was identified as the Chairman of Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Rajeev Vederah.

The description of the video reads, “Mr. Rajeev Vederah ,Chairman, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology delivers an inspiring address at the 35th Annual Convocation of Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology. In his address, he informs about the past and present achievements of the institute and how it is becoming one of the most preferred institutes for Computer Science and Engineering. To learn how we have grown so far and what are the future goals, watch this video for insights by our eminent chairman Mr. Rajeev Vederah.”

At the counters of 17:41 minutes we found the same sequence matching the viral video where the man can be heard explaining the three fundamental practices to make life easier.

The official website of the Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology also lists R R Vederah as the chairman of the entity.

To know more about Vederah we conducted a keyword search for “R R Vederah Thapar Institute” on Google which led us to the official website of Ballarpur Industries Limited (BILT).  RR Vederah  has been listed as the Vice Chairman. As per the information available on the website, Vederah began his career at M/s. Larsen & Toubro Ltd in 1971, where his last position with the company was Senior Manager. In 1981, he joined BILT, and served in various positions of increasing responsibility. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical engineering  from IIT Delhi and a Masters degree from the University of Aston, Birmingham (United Kingdom).

Further, we checked the official website of the Supreme Court of India and did not find any sitting or former judge by the name RR Vederah.

We can thus conclude that the man seen in the viral video is R R Vederah, chairman of the Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology who was addressing the 35th convocation ceremony of the institute and not any supreme court judge.
