Who Is George Soros?

George Soros is billionaire and a renowned philanthropist. The hedge fund tycoon is also the founder of the  Open Society Foundations that “support individuals and organisations across the globe fighting for freedom of expression, accountable government, and societies that promote justice and equality.”

Earlier this year, Soros grabbed the eyeballs in India with his remarks on the Adani-Hindenburg row. The  Hungarian-born American investor had said, “Modi is silent on the subject, but he will have to answer questions from foreign investors and in parliament.” Adding,“This will significantly weaken Modi’s stranglehold on India’s federal government and open the door to push for much-needed institutional reforms. I may be naive, but I expect a democratic revival in India.”
