The accident site of a derailed express train in southern Pakistan.
Ten carriages of a Rawalpindi-bound train derailed and some overturned near the Pakistani town of Nawabshah on Sunday (August 6), killing at least 30 and injuring more than 90.

Fact
Newschecker noticed that the accident site shown in the viral video seemed to have involved more than one train, contradicting the news reports about the Pakistan tragedy. Also, the viral clip ends with the closing credits of Odisha TV, indicating that it may have been a news report on the deadly three-train collision in Odisha’s Balasore on June 2, 2023, which claimed the lives of at least 293 people.
A reverse image search of keyframes of the viral video led us to multiple posts on Twitter and Sharechat in the first week of June 2023, sharing “drone views” of the Odisha train tragedy site. The posts can be seen here, here, here and here.
We also came across multiple news reports featuring similar aerial shots of the site, as seen in the viral video, confirming that it is of the Odisha train disaster. The reports stated that drone footage showed large crowds of locals helping at the scene.
