A video of actor Sonakshi Sinha donning a black lehenga is going viral on social media platforms amid news of her wedding to Zaheer Iqbal. Those sharing the video claim that it showed the Heeramandi actor’s look on her wedding day. Newschecker found the claim to be untrue. The video dates back to May, 2024, and shows Sonakshi Sinha in black lehenga for a fashion show.
Multiple X users shared the 13-second-long-footage of the actor in black lehenga.

Other X users shared a screengrab from the video, along with an image of a burqa-clad woman claiming, “Sonakshi Sinha wore black lehenga in her wedding. She is preparing well for future.”

Fact Check/Verification
A keyword search for “Sonakshi Sinha,” and “black lehenga” on Google led us to a Hindustan Times report, dated May 6, 2024. Carrying images of Sinha in the same black dress, the report stated,”Sonakshi Sinha turned showstopper for designer Vikram Phadnis in a regal black lehenga at an event last night held in Mumbai”
A Times of India report from May 2024 also featured the Heeramandi actor in the same outfit by Vikram Phadnis during Bombay Times Fashion Week.
