Fact

Newschecker first ran a reverse image search, which led us to this Guardian article, dated August 13, 2012, featuring the same photo with the caption reading, “Billionaire investor George Soros with his fiancée Tamiko Bolton”. “Yesterday, George Soros celebrated his 82nd birthday by announcing his engagement to Tamiko Bolton, 42 years his junior,” read the article.

We came across multiple news reports on the engagement, seen here and here, confirming that the viral image is that of Soros and Bolton looking at each other at Soros’ residence in Southampton, New York. We learnt that Soros married Bolton on September 21, 2013, in a small ceremony at Bedford, New York.

Newschecker then ran a keyword search for “Manmohan Singh daughters”, which led us to this photo of the former PM’s three daughters — Amrit Singh, Daman Singh, and Upinder Singh — in a September 15, 2014 Indian Express report on Singh releasing a book titled ‘Strictly Personal’, written by his daughter Daman Singh. The photo further proves that the woman in the viral image is not Singh’s daughter.
