A young Hindu man pleading for his life amid the unrest in Bangladesh.
The viral video is not real. It is AI-generated content created by an Indian digital creator and falsely linked to the recent unrest in Bangladesh.
After two Hindu men, Dipu Chandra Das and Amrit Mandal, were lynched during the ongoing unrest in Bangladesh, a purported selfie video of a young man has gone viral, where he is heard saying in Hindi, “This is Bangladesh, and it is nighttime. They will finish us like ‘Dipu Chadar’. Share this video as much as possible. So that someone can save us.”
Sharing that video, many social media users wrote in Hindi, “Hindus of Bangladesh are dying everyday. Now the Hindu there is also asking “Who will save us” Save the Hindus of Bangladesh Narendra Modi ji.” (Archive Link)

Several red flags appear in the clip:

A reverse image search of key frames revealed that the same video was posted on December 24, 2024, on the Instagram account of Kuldeep Meena, a digital content creator.
Multiple videos on the same account show the creator:
This pattern strongly suggests staged or digitally generated content, not real-life documentation.
In the caption of one video, the creator explicitly mentioned Sora OpenAI, an AI-powered video generation model capable of producing realistic videos from text prompts or images.
