A video allegedly shows NCC DG Lt General Virendra Vats claiming Pakistani drones reached Delhi and Gujarat during the May 2025 conflict and praising Pakistan’s drone technology.
No credible reports, official statements, or verified records show NCC DG Lt General Virendra Vats making any such remarks; the viral video is manipulated.
A video circulating on social media claims that NCC DG Lt General Virendra Vats stated Pakistani drones entered Delhi and Gujarat during the May 2025 Indo-Pak conflict, warning that India would have suffered heavy losses had the drones not turned back.

A keyword search using combinations of “NCC DG,” “Virendra Vats,” “Pakistani drones,” “Delhi,” and “Gujarat” did not yield any credible news reports or official statements supporting the claim.
We also reviewed the official social media handle of the NCC and found no post where Lt General Virendra Vats made any such remarks.
A reverse image search of keyframes from the viral video led us to an X post by IANS, whose watermark is seen in the viral clip, dated December 11, 2025.

In the original post, Lt General Virendra Vats is quoted as saying, “Drones will play a major part in our economy. So, besides opening greater opportunities for our cadets, also ability to reinforce our defence forces in terms of drone and also cyber issues. So, in the coming time, you will see that NCCC, you can say NCCCC, National Cyber Cadet Corps, some selected cadets will be given a first-class cyber training…”
Upon closely analysing the viral video, we observed unnatural and forced lip movements, indicating possible AI manipulation. We ran the audio through Resemble AI, which flagged it as fake. The same audio was also analysed using Hiya Deepfake Voice Detector, which found the clip to be likely a deepfake.

Additionally, the fact check unit of Government’s PIB also clarified that Lt General Virendra Vats did not make any such statement.
