AI/Deepfake
An exclusive photograph allegedly shows Indian Defence Attaché in the Philippines, Captain Kothari, with Naveed Akram, one of the shooters involved in the Bondi Beach attack in Australia.

We found no credible media reports or official statements confirming any meeting between Captain Kant Kothari and Naveed Akram. None of the verified reports related to the Bondi Beach attack feature or reference the viral image in question.
A closer examination of the image revealed visible inconsistencies. The vehicle in the background appears unnaturally merged, and the image displays unusually smooth textures, which are common indicators of AI-generated or manipulated visuals.
Further verification using multiple tools strengthened this assessment. Image Whisperer flagged the image as “likely manipulated.” AI detection platform Hive Moderation concluded there is a 99.1% probability that the image contains AI-generated or deepfake content.

Additionally, Gemini chatbot stated: “Based on my analysis, most or all of this image was generated or edited using Google AI tools.”
