Viral Video Claiming To Show Israelis Rallying For Peace With Iran Is AI-Generated

Claim

People of Israel rallying for peace with Iran, saying, “Iran, stop the war. We apologise. We want peace.”

Fact

Newschecker noticed a faint watermark reading of “Veo” on the bottom-right corner of the clip, which is Google’s AI model that generates videos from text or image prompts.

We then ran the video past Hive Moderation, an AI-detection tool, which found it 97.3% likely to contain AI-generated or deepfake content.

Newschecker also ran the video past Deepfake-o-Meter, which found that out of nine classifiers, six concluded a high probability of the video being “AI-generated”.
