Fact

Newschecker ran a keyword search for “India Bangladesh fight Champions Trophy”, which did not lead us to any credible news reports about such an incident on Thursday, when the two sides met.

We, however, came across this Youtube video, uploaded on February 10, 2020, showing a longer version of the viral clip, headlined, “Watch physical fight between India and Bangladesh under 19 players in U19 World Cup Final”. A similar video can be seen here, confirming that it predates Thursday’s match.

We came across this Times of India article, dated February 10, 2020, stating that Indian and Bangladesh players almost came to blows after the under-19 World Cup final match in South Africa. “Bangladesh players were overtly aggressive while fielding and even sledged Indian batsmen, especially lead pacer Shoriful Islam. After the match, Bangladeshi players rushed to the ground and most of them were still displaying aggressive body language. Reports indicate that one Indian player rushed to confront and pushed a Bangladeshi player who had allegedly said uncharitable things. Bangladesh beat India in the final to win their first U-19 World Cup,” read the report. Similar reports can be seen here and here, confirming that the viral video is from 2020.
