Fact
Newschecker ran a reverse image search of keyframes, which led us to the same video uploaded by a Twitter fanpage of Kohli, dated June 17, 2023, stating that the couple attended a Krishna Das kirtan in London.
A further search led us to this Business Today report, dated June 17, 2023, on the show. “Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma were spotted at a Krishna Das Kirtan show in London a few days ago. The couple was seen sitting in the audience and enjoying the music. For the unversed, Krishna Das is a renowned American vocalist who is known for his popular Hindu devotional songs. He has been performing kirtan for over 40 years, and he has a large following all over the world,” read the report.
We also came across this Times of India report, dated June 19, 2023,stating that the couple surprised their fans with a special appearance at the Krishna Das Kirtan event in London.
Similar reports can be seen here and here, confirming that the viral video is from last year and predates the Anant Ambani-Radhika Merchant wedding and pre-wedding festivities.
