Newschecker ran a keyword search for “Bhopal Police Pakistan Zindabad slogans”, which did not lead us to any credible news reports about such an incident.
We then ran a reverse image search of keyframes, which led us to this VK News report on Youtube, dated May 12, 2025, stating that gangster Zubair Maulana and three of his aides were arrested by the Bhopal Police. According to the description in Hindi, Maulana, a history-sheeter who was absconding for six months, and his aides were then paraded by the police.
A relevant keyword search led us to this Times of India report, dated May 10, 2025, headlined, “Absconding gangster held after 6 months and paraded.”
“In a major breakthrough, a joint team from Teela Jamalpura, Mangalwara, Gautam Nagar, Hanumanganj police stations, and Crime Branch on Friday claimed to have arrested a notorious gangster and three of his accomplices. Zubair Maulana was absconding for the past six months and recently committed two firing incidents to terrorise his rivals. The accused were found in possession of one illegal firearm with four live cartridges and three sharp-edged weapons. They were paraded in the area by the police team,” read the report. A similar Bhaskar English report can be seen here, stating that the Bhopal police caught a notorious gangster, identified as Zubair Maulana, along with three of his associates, also involved in a recent shooting and vandalism spree, and that all of them were paraded in public.
Newschecker then reached out to Ajay Kumar Soni, SHO, Mangalwara police station, and Rakesh Singh Baghel, ACP, Hanumanganj police station, both of whom categorically stated that the viral claim that the Bhopal police had arrested the people seen in the video for chanting “Pakistan Zindabad” was false. The police officers told Newschecker that they had on May 8 arrested Zubair Maulana, a notorious gangster who had been absconding for six months in connection to multiple criminal cases, following which they paraded him in the area.
