Video Of Agitated Birds Flying Haphazardly Is Not From Turkey, But From Houston

Disturbed birds flying haphazardly to the sky ahead of the earthquake in Turkey

Newschecker conducted a reverse image search on the keyframes of the viral video which led us to a Mail online news report published on 25 January 2017. 

According to the report, the video was shot over the  Houston freeway in the US, in 2017. 

“The video showed traffic backed up on one side of the freeway as cars slowed down on the other side due to the swooping birds,” the article revealed, adding that the scene looked like it was straight out of Alfred Hitchcock’s 1963 horror film, The Birds. 

However, the article did not carry any explanation for the strange behavior of the birds. 

Hence, we can conclude that the viral video does not show agitated birds ahead of the Turkey earthquake, but is actually old footage from Houston, Texas.
