Claim
Crocodile spotted wading through a flooded locality in Ambala.

Fact
Old video from Madhya Pradesh shared in a false context.

As incessant rainfall caused waterlogging in Ambala, a video of a crocodile wading through a flooded locality has gone viral on social media platforms with users claiming it to be the Haryana city. Newschecker found the claim to be untrue. The viral video actually dates back to August 2022, and shows an incident from Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district.

Notably, the same video had gone viral last year alleging to show a crocodile wading through a waterlogged street in a residential area in Bengaluru. Newschecker had debunked the same on September 6, 2022. Read our full fact check here.
