Amid the incessant heavy rain spells caused by cyclone Michaung in Chennai, a video of a crocodile wading through a flooded residential area has gone viral on social media. Newschecker found that the viral video actually dates back to August 2022, and shows an incident from Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district.

Newschecker had debunked the claims on September 6, 2022 and July 12, 2023, claiming to show a crocodile wading through waterlogged streets in Ambala and Bengaluru respectively.
