Newschecker first ran a keyword search for “judge lawyer fight Maharashtra”, which did not throw up any relevant reports of such an incident.

We then ran a reverse image search of keyframes of the video, which led us to this tweet, dated October 29, 2022. According to the tweet, two women lawyers representing a couple in court had an argument on the premises of the Kasganj family court.

A further keyword search led us to this ANI report, published in The Print on October 29, 2022, titled “FIR registered against lawyer for altercation with another lawyer in Kasganj family court.” We also came across reports from the Times of India, Loksatta and Navbharat Times on the same incident, stating that there was a scuffle between women lawyers appearing for the opposing parties in the Kasganj family court in Uttar Pradesh.

Conclusion

A viral video of two lawyers clashing outside a family court in Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh, is being falsely shared as “judge’s assault of lawyer in a Maharashtra court”.

Result: False
