Former West Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh was allegedly attacked by Trinamool Congress (TMC) supporters in Kolkata’s Bhawanipur area.
A reverse image search of a keyframe from the viral video led us to the X handle of Keya Ghosh, Media Co-Incharge of the West Bengal BJP. She posted the same video on September 27, 2021, captioning it, ‘Democracy in Bengal! This was how BJP Vice-President @DilipGhoshBJP was manhandled by TMC goons in Bhawanipore. Shame!”
Other media outlets like, India Today, NDTV and TV9 Bangla also posted the same news at that time.
Per the report, published on ABP Ananda‘s website, The alleged attack on Dilip Ghosh occurred in the Jadubabur Bazar area of South Kolkata, on the final day of campaigning for the Bhawanipur constituency by-election.
Thus it is clear that the viral video is old and the incident happened in 2021.
