Fact
We conducted a reverse image search on the viral picture which led us to an X post by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) dated September 27, 2025. It carried a photograph from the same location as seen in the viral image.

The post stated,”GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan, along with engineering and other departmental officials, inspected the new bridge under construction on Musi river near Moosarambagh, as Musi river is flowing heavily due to recent rains and enquired about the situation on ground…”

It was also listed on image depository website Getty Images, with the caption:
“A general view shows the overflowing Musi River following heavy monsoon rains in Hyderabad on September 27, 2025.”
Additionally, multiple media reports (seen here, here and here) documented heavy rainfall and flooding in Hyderabad in September 2025.
