Video Of ‘No Kings’ March In San Diego Falsely Shared As Americans Protesting Attack On Iran Nuclear Sites

Newschecker noticed that several users called the protests a week old in the comments and decided to conduct a reverse image search on the keyframes of the viral video. 

One of the results that came up was an Instagram post by a handle @jess_porter_official, who wrote in the caption, “SAN DIEGO SHOWED UP! – Protesting Trump’s tyrannical MAGA government. 80,000 people converged on downtown to speak out and peacefully protest. Beautiful to see this occur country wide. So proud of our city for showing up!” The first few seconds of the post carried the same video that is now viral claiming to show the protest in wake of US’ attack on Iran.

The words ‘San Diego, 6/14/2025’ was superimposed on the video. The post further carried the hashtag ‘#NoKings’ and #50501, indicating that the protests were part of the ‘No Kings’ campaign. Multiple organizations such as ‘Indivisible’ and the ‘50501 movement’ (50 states, 50 protests, 1 movement) held a series of protests across the country titled “No Kings” marches, on June 14, 2025 in retaliation to the Army Day parade being conducted by Trump in Washington DC on his 79th birthday. These protests are aimed at challenging the administration’s authoritarianism and corruption- a sentiment intensified by Trump’s response to the recent peaceful demonstrations in Los Angeles.

We further looked up videos of ‘No Kings’ protest in San Diego protests and saw several media outlets carry similar aerial footage of the march held at San Diego Waterfront Park. Newschecker was able to specifically spot an anchored sailboat at the bay, which can be seen in both the videos covering the no kings march and the viral video, further confirming that both the videos are from the same event.
