Fact Check
The video shows multiple trucks carrying a large group of men wearing skull caps, indicating that they belong to the Muslim community, in West Bengal amid recent violence.
The post can be seen here.
A reverse image search on the keyframes of the viral clip led us to an Instagram post by abid.sheik.315, dated December 3, 2024. It featured the same video allegedly showing trucks filled with Muslim men in West Bengal.
We skimmed through the account and found several similar videos of trucks carrying men. In one such video from the same location, a person can be overheard speaking about an ‘Ijtema’, a Muslim religious congregation. We also noticed shop hoarding identifying the location as “Ganesh Mandir, Chola Naka, Bhopal.”
Using this information, we were able to locate the exact spot seen in the viral clip in Bhopal.
We then looked up keywords “Bhopal” and “Ijtema” on Google which led us to report by NDTV MP Chhattisgarh stating that the 77th Aalmi Tablighi Ijtema was organised at Ghasipura near Bhopal from November 29 to December 2, 2024. Other reports on the same can be seen here and here.
