RBI is releasing new notes featuring Rabindranath Tagore and APJ Abdul Kalam

Fact check

Newschecker conducted a keywords search on Google with the words ‘RBI’ Rabindranath Tagore’, ‘Kalam’ and ‘notes’ and were able to find several articles that reported on the incident, some claiming that RBI is deliberating on the decision, while others clarified that no such move was being taken.

We probed further to find a tweet by the Press information Bureau that clarified that the news was a hoax and that no such decision was made.

The tweet also carried a press release issued by the RBI which clarified that there was no such proposal with the RBI. Read the press release here

Result: False/Fabricated
