Hindu man attempts to rape a university student from the Kuki community as fresh violence breaks out in Manipur.

Fact

Newschecker ran a reverse image search of keyframes of the video, which led us to this NDTV report, dated September 27, 2017, sharing a screengrab, stating that three men were arrested in Andhra Pradesh’s Prakasam district after a disturbing mobile phone video showing a 19-year-old college student being groped and assaulted by her boyfriend went viral on social media

“The girl’s lover, B. Sai (19), who allegedly attempted to rape the girl as also their friends, Karthik(22) who allegedly shot the crime with his smart phone and Pawan (21), another friend of the duo who was present when the crime took place on August 29, were taken into custody,” B. Satya Yesu Babu, then SP of Prakasam district, had told The Hindu.  A similar News18 report, dated September 26, 2017, can be seen here, confirming that the viral video is from Andhra Pradesh and not related to the violence in Manipur.
