Fact
A Google reverse image search on the viral photograph led us to a report by The New Indian Express, dated November 27, 2017. It carried a similar photograph of Naidu sitting in front of display screens.
The report stated, “AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday morning inaugurated Asia’s number one command control room of real-time governance, which has been built in the first block of the interim secretariat at Velagapudi.”
Further, we found a Facebook post by Nara Chandrababu Naidu, dated November 26, 2017, stating “Inaugurated Real Time Governance State Center today, in the first block of the Secretariat. The well-equipped and technologically advanced centre will serve as a synchronised platform to leverage e-governance, technology and electronics communication for hosting surveillance wing, grievance redressal, major events, the alert system for natural calamities etc for the citizens. It will also function, across all the 13 districts, as an ecosystem to manage the data of all the households in the state to impact their lives with effective governance, ensuring ‘People First’ mantra.”

The post carried a photograph identical to the viral image except for YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s picture on the screen in front of Naidu. On comparing the viral image with the Facebook photograph, we could conclude that the former has been edited to falsely show Naidu watching Reddy presenting the YSR Congress party manifesto for the upcoming polls.
We could thus conclude that a 2017 photograph has been digitally manipulated to show Nara Chandrababu Naidu watching YS Jagan Mohan Reddy presenting the YSR Congress party manifesto.
Result: Altered Photo
