Claim
Video of an ‘air raid’ shared with the claim to show visuals from Russia-Ukraine conflict with the caption “World War 3 is happening as Russia invades Ukraine.”
Fact
Newschecker conducted a reverse image search of the key-frames of the video on Google and found multiple videos in the form of Instagram clips. The first video was uploaded on 19 October 2021.
Newschecker also found another video on Instagram uploaded on 23 January 2021 with the caption ‘Old video but still like it’ on Instagram handle ig. airplane.
The comment section of the post mentions that the aircrafts used in the video are from the WWII era and that the video is in fact a CGI animation. This proves that the video is not from the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Using this as a clue, we further researched, to find a video uploaded by an Instagram account called @borisao_blois, who uploaded the video to his Instagram page with the Spanish caption ‘POV: You are going to die. What humanity once saw.’ The video was posted on October 8, 2021. The details mentioned in the profile reveal that it is run by a person called Boris J.A., who is a 3D animator. The videos also carry his watermark.
The profile also carries the link of the person’s YouTube channel, which also has the same video on it. The artist also features several other similar videos showing air raids/blitzkrieg during WWII.
Result: False context/ False
