Old, Unrelated Video Of Georgian Influencer Dancing In The Rain Viral As Iranian Woman’s Protest Against ‘Islamic Regime’

Video claiming to show an Iranian woman dancing barefoot in the rain as a protest and a “powerful message to the Islamic regime.”

Fact

Newschecker ran a reverse image search of keyframes, which led us to this Instagram post, dated August 17, 2023, well before the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict that began on June 13, 2025.

We learnt that the woman in the video is social media influencer Tamta Sabelashvili, who posted a clarification regarding the viral video on June 19, 2025, stating that she is from Georgia and has no connection to the current situation in Iran and Israel. 

Newschecker found that the video was originally posted on Sabelashvili’s Tiktok page on July 16, 2023, further confirming that the viral claim is false. Sabelashvili’s Facebook page states that she is currently based in France.
