A 32-second video, purportedly showing fireworks being set off inside a movie theatre, has gone viral with the claim that it happened during the screening of American fantasy adventure comedy film, A Minecraft Movie, which is based on the highly popular 2011 video game of the same name.

Newschecker ran a reverse image search of keyframes, which led us to an excerpt of the viral video as part of a New Indian Express report on Youtube, dated November 13, 2023, stating that fans of actor Salman Khan fans lit fireworks inside Mohan Theatre in Malegaon, Maharashtra, during the screening of “Tiger 3“

A further search led us to the News Minute report, November 13, 2023, headlined, “Salman Khan fans burst crackers inside theatre during Tiger 3 screening”, sharing the viral video. “In a bizarre incident, fans of Bollywood star Salman Khan burst firecrackers during the screening of his new film Tiger 3 at Mohan Cinema, in Malegaon, Nashik, on Sunday, November 12. The unidentified persons burst several firecrackers inside the theatre during the 10 pm show. No injuries were reported and the police registered a case and are looking for the unknown miscreants,” read the report. A similar Times of India report, dated November 13, 2023, can be seen here, confirming that the viral claim is false.
