Fact

This image of a crying girl sitting next to a woman who is seen lying injured and immobile is being shared widely on social media, claiming to show the human cost of Russia’s attack on Ukraine.

On looking up the image on Yandex using a reverse image search, Newschecker was led to a YouTube video that featured excerpts from many movies based on World War II. At precisely 1:30 minutes, we see the same image that is going viral.

On further research, Newschecker found that the image was actually taken from the film ‘Fortress of War’.
