Election campaign poster in Kerala features husband instead of Muslim woman candidate.
The viral photo is actually from a scene in the 2023 Malayalam movie, ‘Vellaripattanam’, not a real election campaign poster.
A viral post on social media claims that in Kerala, a Muslim woman candidate’s election campaign poster featured her husband instead of her. The Malayalam banner purportedly carries the slogan “Vote for Sulaiman’s wife Fathima” and mentions “Chakkarakkudam Grama Panchayat – Ward 11” with a symbol of a political party named PPDP.

The banner mentions “Chakkarakkudam Grama Panchayat.”
A search on the Kerala Local Self Government Department’s official website (lsgkerala.gov.in) shows that no such panchayat exists.

The poster features a political party called PPDP but there is no registered political party under that name in Kerala. The only similar party is the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), founded by Abdul Nasser Madani.
Several users pointed out in the comments that the image appears in the Malayalam movie Vellaripattanam (2023).

The official YouTube upload by Amrita Movies confirms this — the same poster appears at 1 hour 19 minutes into the film. This clearly proves the image was taken from a 2023 Malayalam movie and not from an actual election campaign.
