Video shows a bride meeting her ex-boyfriend just hours before her wedding
It is a scripted reel created by digital content creator Aarav Mavi.
The internet has been abuzz over a highly emotional video, purportedly showing a bride in a red lehenga arriving in a car to meet her ex-boyfriend, just two hours before her wedding rituals.
The viral clip identifies the bride as Shreya, claiming that she made a last-minute visit to bid farewell to her ex-boyfriend. Dressed in full bridal attire, she is seen arriving at a location identified as Vaishnav Chemist, accompanied by a friend. In the video, Shreya is heard speaking to her ex-boyfriend over the phone to coordinate the meeting. Her friend later addresses the camera, claiming that Shreya wanted to meet her ex-boyfriend “one last time” and suggesting that she was getting married owing to family pressure rather than by choice.
The video shows Shreya hugging her former partner, speaking to him briefly, embracing him emotionally before quickly returning to the car. The clip has since gone viral, with many users believing it to be a real incident. Social media reactions remain divided, with some debating emotional closure before marriage, while others expressed sympathy for the groom and raised questions around love versus societal pressure.
The video is being widely shared on X, Facebook, and Instagram as a real incident. Several media outlets, including Zee News, News18, TV9 Bharatvarsh, Navbharat Times, ABP News, Orissa Post and Amar Ujala, ran sensational reports based on the clip, while adding brief disclaimers that the video’s authenticity was unverified.

A reverse image search of keyframes from the viral video led us to a December 13 Instagram post by the account @chalte_phirte098, which belongs to digital creator Aarav Mavi. The account’s bio reads: “Turning heartbreaks into timeless stories. Every shattered heart has a story. Share yours with me!” This strongly indicates that the video is a creative drama rather than a real incident.
On examining content creator Aarav Mavi’s Instagram page and YouTube channel, we found several such videos centred around themes of relationship betrayal, heartbreak, and love-triangle narratives. He also encourages viewers to share their personal experiences with him, further indicating that his content is based on dramatised storytelling rather than real-life footage.
In one of his videos, professional shooting equipment such as cameras and lights are clearly visible.
On December 16, 2025, Aarav Mavi posted a video in which he clarified that the viral bride video is not a real incident. In the caption of the video, he wrote, “This story is inspired by real events. It’s just for awareness and to touch hearts.”

In the video, Mavi explained that the clip was created by him and was inspired by real-life stories shared by people with him. He said, “You must have seen a video where a bride is running away. I made that video, and I had no idea it would go so viral. I never expected it to reach such a big level, to the point where major news channels are calling me for interviews and podcasts. They are asking me to explain the truth behind this video. All my followers know that I take references from real-life stories and then make videos based on them. I create the scene myself. People share their stories with me.”
He further explains that he receives numerous personal stories daily, ranging from heartbreak to family tragedies, and that some of these inspire the videos he creates. According to him, the viral video gained traction because it emotionally connected with viewers and felt relatable, leading many to believe it was real.
This confirms that the viral clip is staged and scripted, not an actual incident.
We also checked Mavi’s Instagram stories and found that he had shared several screenshots of messages from individuals who sent him their personal stories, requesting him to turn them into videos.

Further, in other videos posted on his account, the same individual seen playing the ex-boyfriend in the viral clip appears in different roles, reinforcing that the video is part of scripted content.
