Viral video shows Tesla chief Elon Musk getting a haircut from a robot.

Fact
Newschecker ran a keyword search for “Elon Musk haircut robot”, which did not throw up any credible reports. We also noticed inconsistencies such as Musk’s clothes, his hairstyle, along with the video being blurry at some points.
A Google Lens search of keyframes led us to an Instagram post by aismartzone, dated 17 December 2024. featuring the same video.
The states that “this mind-blowing clip is CGI, created with the power of AI tools”.
We found several other AI-generated videos on this page. Moreover, the page’s profile identifies itself as an AI & Robotics Explorer and a Tech Enthusiast.
We then ran the media past AI-content-detection platform TrueMedia to confirm whether it was created using artificial intelligence or it showed an actual incident. TrueMedia found “substantial evidence of manipulation” in a keyframe of the video, which confirms that the video is AI-generated.
