Fact
A Google reverse image search on the viral photograph led us to a Facebook post by Virat Kohli Fan’s Club, dated March 25, 2018. The post featured a picture of Kohli wearing a plain white shirt, and sitting in a posture as seen in the viral image. In addition, the composition of both the pictures was identical.
The search also led us to an Instagram post by photographer Rohan Shrestha, dated September 23, 2016, carrying the same photograph of Virat Kohli- as seen in the Facebook post. Shrestha had tagged the former Indian skipper in the post and written “ #whiteTseries #blackandwhite ##headshot.”
On comparing the viral photograph of Kohli wearing a Bharat Jodo Yatra t-shirt with his picture posted by Shrestha, we could conclude the both to be the same.
We could thus conclude that the viral photo showing Virat Kohli in a ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ t-shirt has been digitally edited.
