Newschecker found no such case of a protester by the name of Ankita Bauri being raped and killed. However, there were two separate cases of a gang-rape and a murder of two young women in Burdwan, which are not connected to the rape-murder case of the Kolkata doctor.

A video of Google CEO Sundar Pichai purportedly endorsing an investment platform, ‘Google Invest’ specifically for the Indian citizens has surfaced on Facebook. Newschecker found the video to be a deepfake, and that no such financial platform has been announced by the tech giant.

A 22-second video purportedly showing a woman walking into what appears to be a courtroom before taking out a gun to shoot multiple times has gone viral, claiming that it shows a German national, Marianne Bachmeier, shoot dead the rapist who murdered her 7-year-old daughter, in court in 1981. Newschecker found that the clip is from a 1984 German movie based on a real-life incident from 1981, when Marianne Bachmeier shot and killed Klaus Grabowski, who was on trial for the rape and murder of her seven-year-old daughter, Anna.

Viral Video Of Virat Kohli’s Remarks On Kolkata Doctor Rape-Murder Case Is Old & Unrelated

Multiple social media users shared a video, claiming that it shows Indian cricketer Virat Kohli calling the recent gruesome Kolkata doctor rape-murder case “disturbing and shocking,” while adding that he is “ashamed to be a part of that society.” Newschecker found the video to be old, showing Kohli reacting to a horrific incident in Bengaluru where several women were molested by a mob of men publicly on a road during New Year’s Eve celebrations.
