Video shows a recent incident of a woman assaulting a cab driver in full public view in Delhi.

Fact
A keyword search for “woman,” “assaults,” “driver,” & “public” on Google led us to a YouTube video by @reviewron, dated November 17, 2021. Carrying the viral footage, it stated, “In a chilling reminder of the Priyadarshini case from Lucknow, yet another video has surfaced, this time supposedly from Delhi. In this undated footage, a woman wearing a blue branded Vivo T-shirt is first seen hitting a cab driver…The incident is said to have happened last week at Block-22 on Kasturi Lal Anand Marg of West Patel Nagar.”
We further looked up “Delhi woman,” “assaults,” “driver,” “West Patel Nagar” and found that multiple other news outlets had reported on the incident in November 2021. A video report by Hindustan Times, dated November 18, 2021, stated, “A Delhi woman was caught on camera slapping a cab driver in the middle of a road in the capital’s Patel Nagar area. The video of the assault was put out by a user on Twitter on November 17… As the video went viral, netizens slammed the woman and demanded legal action against her.”

We could thus conclude that the viral video of a woman assaulting driver does not show any recent incident. The clip dates back to November 2021 and is being shared out of context.
