Position: Operations Editor

We are currently hiring an Operations Editor to lead our editorial team and oversee content on our website. This includes developing styling guidelines, determining content strategy, reviewing content, and supervising day-to-day operations. Reports to Managing Editor.

Main Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

• Approving the layout, design, style, and tone of articles published on the website
• Work closely with the team to develop editorial boards for stories and upcoming campaigns
• Make decisions about which stories, articles and photographs to publish
• Ensuring all copies have proper voice, context, balance and clarity and are in line with the editorial strategy
• Ensuring all information in articles and stories has been properly fact-checked
• Suggesting edits  
• Writing pieces occasionally to contribute to the website

Key Requirements

• A degree/diploma in Journalism, Communications or a related field
• Solid experience in leading editorial teams
• Knowledge of SEO and WordPress 
• Strong leader who possesses exceptional writing and research skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• You are organized and with high attention to detail

Position: Video Editor/Motion GFX Designer

We are currently hiring a Video Editor to join our team and work closely with a team of writers and producers to manage all aspects of the raw footage to deliver high quality and impactful video content.

Main Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

• Editing videos on a daily basis for social media (including horizontal and vertical videos)
• Performing the full range of editing works from splicing, to sound balancing, colour correction and colour grading.
• Review the script to better understand the video production requirements
• Editing raw footage content and cutting video sequences to ensure that concepts are translated effectively
• Review all edited tapes to identify any issues and recommend changes as required
• Organizing and managing all audio and video assets to ensure a smooth workflow

Key Requirements

• Solid prior experience as a video editor or videographer
• Sound technical knowledge of professional lighting and photography equipment
• Strong expertise in editing software such as Premiere pro, After Effect, Photoshop and Final Cut Pro
• Good colour grading sense and skills to be able to tell a story through editing
• You can perform simple 2D animation, motion graphics and VFX
• You are organized and with high attention to detail
• You can deliver high-quality work while meeting tight deadlines

Position: Fact Checker

Number of vacancies: 6 ( 1 each in English, Hindi, Bengali,Punjabi, Tamil and Kashmiri)

We are currently hiring 6 Fact Checkers/Writers, 1 in each language – English, Hindi, Bengali, Punjabi, Tamil, and Kashmiri to join our team to fact check information prevalent in these 6 languages among social media users. With a thorough understanding of current affairs and social media, you’ll be responsible for keeping track of news, articles, announcements, and data updates.

Main Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

• Tracking trending content among social media users in the same language as you write in
• Write fact check articles daily after researching and investigating thoroughly. This  includes getting information from primary sources as well as OSINT.
• Any other client deliverables related to fact-checking in your language

Key Requirements

• A degree/diploma in Journalism, Communications or a related field
• Analytical skills to translate complicated concepts into simple, understandable formats 
• Basic fact-checking skills and awareness of the current mis/disinformation ecosystem
• Have a network of sources in place to verify information and disprove myths
• Knowledge of SEO and WordPress 
• Superlative research skills 
• You are organized and with high attention to detail
