A social media user claims that 2020 Olympic Games fireworks were displayed recently even though the Games have been postponed due to the ongoing pandemic. It further states that fireworks were displayed since it could not be kept until the Games in July 2021.
Amar Prasad Reddy, media advisor to the Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare (as per his Twitter profile) also tweeted the video in context with the claim.

Fact Check/ Verification
Through a reverse image search of the video in context on InVid, an online verification tool, we came across a link to a website titled, FWsim Mount Fuji Synchronized Fireworks Show2 GIF | Gfycat”
Created in March 2017, the GIF in the above website showed a keyframe identical to one in the claim’s video (you can see this at 23 seconds). With 2.5K views at the time of writing this fact check, the GIF linked a Youtube video as it’s source.
The above Youtube video titled, “FWsim Mount Fuji Synchronized Fireworks Show2” was posted in December 2015 by an account named hiramu55bocaboca. This is a longer version of the video from the claim. With over 3.3 million views its description said that it’s a simulation video. It also included a link to fwsim.com, an online firework simulation software.
This video has been verified by other fact checkers as well.
Conclusion
The claim which states that 2020 Olympic Games fireworks were displayed recently even though the Games have been postponed due to ongoing pandemic is misleading. Video used in the claim is a simulation video created using fwsim software in 2015.
