Three images of a man in different clothing are being shared on social media in the context of the ongoing farmers’ protest. The first image shows him as a religious leader, the second in plain clothing, and the third wearing a green scarf attributed to the support of farmers.
One such claim shared by a Twitter user reads, “मिलिए इश्छाधरी जीव से
When translated from Hindi to English, it (roughly) reads, “Meet flirtatious creatures
Sunday – Pastor
Monday – Saturday – Farmer This in-law will break Yogendra Yadav’s record
This is very big wishful, sometimes he becomes a pastor, sometimes he becomes a saint, sometimes he becomes an agitating farmer.”

Fact Check/ Verification
PM Narendra Modi in his recent Lok Sabha speech, coined new terms, suggesting the country learned to differentiate between ‘Andolanjeevis’ and ‘Andolankari’. He said, “I consider ‘Kisan Andolan’ to be holy. But, when ‘Andolanjeevis’ hijack ‘Pavitra Andolans’, showcase photos of those jailed for serious offences, does it serve any purpose? Not allowing toll plazas to work, destroying telecom towers-does it serves a Pavitra Andolan,” reported Economic Times.
Soon after, three images of man were shared claiming that he sometimes becomes a storyteller, other times a Christian priest or an agitating farmer.
A reverse image search of the first photograph in context led us to a 2018 video uploaded on the Youtube channel, Arputhar Yesu Tv. Titled, “Laborer’s day Christian Tamil Sermon Father Jegath Kasper Speech on Workers Day 30-04-2018,” the video includes keyframes similar to that of the claim’s image.
Next, we found the second image in one of the keyframes of another 2018 video uploaded on the Youtube channel, Kalaivani Rasathi. Here, the man can be seen wearing the same outfit, background, and with the same ARRA watermark.
The third image was found in a 2018 ANI article titled, “Pastors manhandled: Tamil Maiya Organisation blames RSS for atrocities against Christian Community.”
“In the wake of two pastors being manhandled in Tamil Nadu’s Kanyakumari, JG Raj of the Tamil Maiya Organisation, on Saturday, pinned the blame on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and other connected organisations for the atrocities against the Christian community,” reads the ANI article.
The caption of a 2018 ANI News video describing the same incident reads, “Two pastors were manhandled by some miscreants inside Arulmigu Mutharamman Temple in Tamil Nadu’s Kanyakumari. Tamil Maiya Organisation on Saturday condemned the incident and staged a protest in Chennai.”
Please note we were unable to reach Jegath Kasper, the man in the claim’s video and therefore, we’re unable to independently verify these photographs. However, it’s clear the images in context do not reflect Kasper’s involvement in the ongoing farmers’ protest since they were shot in 2018.
This claim has been debunked in our Hindi fact-check as well.
Conclusion
The man in the claim’s images is reportedly Father Jegath Kasper. All three photographs of Kasper in the claim are from 2018 and shot at different events. Therefore, it’s clear that they’re not related to the ongoing farmers’ movement and are being shared with the wrong context.
