A reverse image search on the keyframes of the viral video led us to a YouTube post by @australiancommunitymedia, dated April 11, 2024. Carrying the same footage, it stated, “Muslims around the world have celebrated Eid al-Fitr.” The location stamp on the video stated “Dubai, UAE.”
We further found a Facebook post by @AbuD7abi, dated January 1, 2024, carrying the same footage.
A Tiktok post by @priince558 from December 2023 also carried the same video with “#qatar” written in the description.
We were not independently able to verify other whereabouts of the video. However, it dates back to at least December, 2023 and does not show any recent Diwali celebrations in Dubai.
