Subhash’s brother confirmed that the woman seen in the photo is not Atul’s wife.

The tragic suicide of Bengaluru-based Atul Subhash over alleged harassment by his estranged wife has taken the nation by storm. Subhash who hailed from Bihar left suicide note and a video of him elaborating on the alleged emotional distress he faced due to harassment and cases filed by his wife and her family.

A case of abetment of suicide has been reportedly filed against his wife Nikita Singhania, her mother Nisha Singhania, her brother Anurag Singhania and her uncle Sushil Singhania. As the social media rallied to seek justice for Subhash, several users shared an alleged photograph of his wife Nikita Singhania demanding immediate action against her.

Multiple social media users shared the photo of a woman, identifying her as Atul Subhash’s wife  Nikita Singhania, and asking for her immediate arrest. Newschecker, however, found that the woman seen in the viral photo is not the techie’s wife.

Fact Check/Verification

A keyword search for “Nikita Singhania” and “Atul Subhash” on Google yielded multiple reports such as this, this and this featuring the photo of Singhania. However, the same did not resemble the woman seen in the viral photo.

We found that the viral photo was taken from an Instagram account of one “@_nikita_singhania___.” The profile’s bio indicated that the user is based in Raipur.

Reportedly, Singhania works at IT firm Accenture in Delhi, and is from UP’s Jaunpur.

Newschecker then reached out to Bikas Kumar, brother of the deceased, who confirmed to us that the viral photo does not show Atul Subhash’s wife Nikita Singhania.

Conclusion

Hence, the viral photograph does not feature Atul Subhash’s wife Nikita Singhania.
