Photos show Australian cricketer Travis Head breaking down after his team lost the recent ICC Champions Trophy semi-final match to India.

Fact
On carefully analysing the viral images, we found that they show the cricketer in different jerseys. Further, the blurry background, and glossy texture of the media raised our suspicion of the photos being AI generated.
We then looked up the viral images on multiple AI detection platforms, which further confirmed that both the photos were generated using Artificial Intelligence tools. Hive Moderation found a 99.7% likelihood of Image 1 containing AI-generated or deepfake content, and concluded a 99.8% probability of the same for Image 2.
Another AI detection tool Sightengine found a 99% probability of both the images, purportedly showing Head crying after Australia lost the recent Champions Trophy match to India, to be AI generated.
We also ran past both the images on website wasitai.com. It concluded, “We are quite confident that this image, or significant part of it, was created by AI.”

Hence, the viral photos allegedly showing Travis Head breaking down after Australia lost the ICC Champions Trophy semi-final match to India were found to be AI generated.
