Claim

A photo of Indian cricketer Virat Kohli with his actor-producer wife Anushka Sharma and their children playing a retro video game on a CRT TV.

We received this photo on our Whatsapp tipline (+91-9999499044), requesting us to fact-check it.

Fact

Newschecker noticed the lack of detail in the video game being played on the TV behind Kohli, raising our doubts on the image. Also, we did not find any such photo on the official social media accounts of Kohli and Sharma.

We then ran the image past Hive Moderation, an AI-content detection tool, which found it 99.9% likely to contain AI-generated or deepfake content. Another tool, SightEngine, too, found the image to be 99% likely AI-generated, hence confirming that the viral image is not real.
