Actors Shah Rukh Khan and Sanjay Dutt criticise Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and demand an apology over the hijab controversy.
The viral videos claiming that Shah Rukh Khan and Sanjay Dutt criticised Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar are fake. Both clips use old, unrelated videos with AI-generated audio added later.
Social media users are circulating videos of Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan and Sanjay Dutt, claiming that both criticised Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and demanded an apology after an alleged incident in which he reportedly pulled off a woman doctor’s hijab during a government event in Patna on December 15, 2025.

To verify the claim, Newschecker searched Google using keywords such as “Sanjay Dutt criticises Nitish Kumar” and “Shah Rukh Khan hijab controversy Bihar”. We found no reliable news reports supported these claims.
We also reviewed the official social media accounts of both actors. Neither Shah Rukh Khan nor Sanjay Dutt publicly commented on the matter.
To trace the origin of the viral Shah Rukh Khan video, we conducted a reverse image search using Google Lens on keyframes from the clip. This led us to news reports published by The Times of India, ABP News, and National Herald in March 2020, which reported that Shah Rukh Khan urged fans to stay indoors and follow precautionary measures.
The original video was shared by Shah Rukh Khan on March 20, 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic. In the video, he appealed to people to stay indoors, avoid public places, and remain cautious of misinformation.
A closer analysis of the viral video revealed that the audio did not align with Shah Rukh Khan’s lip movements, suggesting tampering. To confirm this, Newschecker analysed the video using multiple AI detection tools.
The Hiya Deepfake Voice Detector gave the voice an authenticity score of just 5 out of 100, indicating a very high likelihood of AI-generated manipulation.

Hive Moderation identified the clip as 59.4 percent AI-generated, while Aurigin.ai flagged the audio as AI-generated. These findings clearly indicate that the original video has been altered by adding a fake, AI-generated voiceover.

We conducted a similar investigation into the viral video of Sanjay Dutt. A reverse image search led us to reports published by Mid-Day on August 25, 2019, as well as a video uploaded on the Filmy Beat YouTube channel on August 8, 2019. According to these sources, the original video shows Sanjay Dutt thanking audiences for the love shown to his Marathi film “Baba.”
He had shared this video on his Instagram account on August 8, 2019, and it had no connection to politics or any incident involving Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Upon analysing the viral version of the Sanjay Dutt video, we observed that the audio did not sync with his lip movements. To verify this, the clip was tested using several AI-detection tools. Hive Moderation assessed the video as 68.2 percent AI-generated. Aurigin.ai identified the audio as 100 percent AI-generated.

Similarly the Hiya Deepfake Voice Detector gave the voice an authenticity score of just 10 out of 100, indicating a very high likelihood of AI-generated manipulation.
