Fact
A keyword search for “DK Shivakumar,” “Chandrababu Naidu” and “Airport” on Google led us to a report by the New Indian Express from December 2023. Carrying a screengrab from the viral footage, the report elaborated on a meeting between the two politicians on the tarmac of Bengaluru’s HAL Airport
“The duo met as Naidu landed at the airport to head to his home constituency, Kuppam, while Shivakumar was on the way to Nagpur to attend the Congress Formation Day celebrations. The video of the duo exchanging pleasantries shared by Shivakumar on social media has since gone viral,” added the report.
The same footage was shared by news agency ANI on December 28, 2023.
The December 2023 meeting between the Congress leader and the TDP chief had sparked political speculations. Reacting to the same, TDP general secretary and CBN’s son Nara Lokesh had said that the meeting was coincidental and no political meaning should be seen in it. “What’s wrong with meeting DK Shiva Kumar?…He met Chandrababu, but it doesn’t imply an alliance with the INDIA bloc,” he was quoted as saying.
Hence, an old “coincidental” meeting between DK Shivakumar and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu in Bengaluru has been falsely shared to show the Congress leader “attempting to lure” the NDA partner in Delhi.
