A viral video, widely shared during Ganesh Chaturthi 2025, claims to show the construction of the world’s largest Lord Ganesh statue in Chennai.
The video is AI-generated and does not depict a real Ganapati statue.
A video showing the making of a Lord Ganesh idol has gone viral on social media platforms amid Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, with several users claiming it to be the “world’s largest Ganapati statue in Chennai.” Newschecker found the claim to be untrue and the video to be AI generated.
The video is being widely shared on X and Facebook.

Frame-by-frame analysis revealed distortions in several parts of the footage and unnaturally smooth gestures, tell tale markers of AI-generated visuals.


The watermark hoohoocreations80 appeared throughout the clip. A Google search led to a YouTube channel of the same name, which explicitly states it shares AI-generated creations. The same video was available on the channel, confirming its synthetic origin.
