No credible reports on any such discovery. Video found to be AI generated.

A 51-second-long-video allegedly showing an underwater expedition exploring the remains of an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu has gone viral on social media platforms, with users claiming it to be from Bali. Newschecker, however, found the video to be AI generated.

Multiple X and Facebook users shared the footage claiming, “Vishnu Temple is found underwater near Bali, Indonesia. It is said to be 5,000+ Years old…Many sculptures were found under the sea water there.”

Fact Check/Verification

A keyword search for “Vishnu Temple” and “Bali” on Google did not yield any credible reports/official releases on such a discovery.

We then ran a segment of the viral clip on AI detection platform Hive Moderation which found an aggregate 99.9% likelihood of the media containing AI generated or deepfake content.

On carefully analysing the clip, we noticed the watermark of one “@mbaiarts” on the bottom right corner of the screen.

We looked it up on Google, and found an Instagram profile by the same user name- Mb Ai Arts (@mbaiarts). The description of the account stated, “Exploring the beauty of Hindu gods through AI art.”

The viral clip was posted on the handle on April 9, 2025, with a disclaimer clarifying that it is a product of AI. All visuals are AI-generated and created solely for artistic and educational wonder. With full respect to all faiths, this is a humble tribute to our shared spiritual heritage,” it stated.

Newschecker had earlier debunked a similar AI generated video showing the remnants of ‘Ram Setu.’ The same can be seen here.

Conclusion

Hence, we find that the alleged video of an ancient Vishnu Temple in Bali is not actual, but has been generated using AI.
