A Google keyword search for “Delhi Metro,” “fare” and “hike” did not yield any credible reports on any such a decision by the authorities.
We did not find any announcement on the alleged increment of metro fare in the official website of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation as well.
Moreover, we came across an X post by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation calling out the social media posts on alleged Delhi Metro fare hike. “Delhi Metro’s fares can only be revised by an independent Fare Fixation Committee which is nominated by the Government. Presently there is no such proposal for the constitution of any Fare Fixation Committee,” it clarified.
