PM Modi unveils a new financial project after Shah Rukh Khan calls out the government for hiding the income platform.
No credible reports on any such incident. Video found to be manipulated using AI.
An alleged news report featuring journalist Anjana Om Kashyap claiming to show actor Shah Rukh Khan accusing the Indian government of “lying” and “deliberately hiding” a “new passive income platform that his friend and billionaire Mukesh Ambani has developed” has surfaced online.
In the 3:25 minute-long-video, Khan is allegedly heard saying, “…I have to state that the Indian government is hiding information from people about a platform where you can earn up to Rs 1,600,000 per month with just Rs 21,500 … don’t understand why the authorities are hiding this. They are deleting my videos and Mukesh Ambani’s requests…”
The “report” further alleges that PM Narendra Modi “reacted” to Shah Rukh Khan’s statement and purportedly said, “…Since both myself and the entire government want to help the Indian economy grow, we decided to test this platform on ourselves to make sure it is not a pyramid scheme…This project combines cutting-edge technology with a deep understanding of financial markets, using artificial intelligence to automate cryptocurrency trading..”
Newschecker received the video on our WhatsApp tipline (+91-9999499044) requesting to be fact checked.

A keyword search for “Shah Rukh Khan,” and “Narendra Modi” on Google did not yield any credible reports on the alleged statements by Shah Rukh Khan. We did not find any evidence of the Prime Minister announcing such a project that uses “artificial intelligence to automate cryptocurrency trading,” as claimed in the viral clip.
On carefully analysing the viral video, we noticed that the lip movements of all the three subjects appeared unnatural, and their jaw portion appeared smudged/blurred. The pronunciation of certain Indian names, as well as PM Modi’s accent in the clip further indicated AI manipulation.
We then analysed multiple sections of the purported news report, featuring journalist Anjana Om Kashyap, Khan and PM Modi, on AI detection platform Hive Moderation, which concluded an overall 99.9% likelihood of the clips containing AI generated or deepfake content.
Another AI detection software Resemble.ai found that the audios heard in the viral clip were fake.
Newschecker also checked multiple segments of the audios on Hiya Deepfake Voice Detector tool which too concluded them to be “likely deepfake.”
We then ran the alleged audios of PM Modi and Shah Rukh Khan on ElevenLabs, a voice AI research and deployment company. While it was “uncertain” about Khan, it found it “very likely” (Probability 98%) that the Prime Minister’s fabricated audio was generated with ElevenLabs.

Furthermore, on inspecting the link mentioned in the post, we were directed to a site ‘inoviuew.com,’ displaying a fake webpage impersonating the website of Invest India, the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency of the Government of India, set up in 2009 as a not-for-profit company under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
The actual URL of Invest India is “https://www.investindia.gov.in/.”
We then checked the link “‘inoviuew.com” on website Scam Detector which gave a low score of 1.9 points, and termed it “Dubious. Very New. Suspicious.”
We looked up the keyframes of the viral clip showing Shah Rukh Khan on Google Lens which found a video interview of the actor uploaded on the YouTube channel of the Locarno Film Festival in October 2024. It featured Khan in the same attire and background as seen in the viral clip. We skimmed through the interview, but did not find any mention of the alleged investment scheme.
A reverse image search on the keyframes of the viral video featuring PM Modi led us to a YouTube video by the official channel of Narendra Modi, dated May 12, 2025.
“In his address to the nation about Operation Sindoor, PM Modi described it as an unwavering pledge for justice. He thundered that the terrorists dared to wipe the Sindoor from the foreheads of our sisters; that’s why India destroyed the very headquarters of terror. The PM highlighted that Operation Sindoor has redefined the fight against terror. He concluded by saying terror & talks cannot coexist and water & blood can never flow together,” its description stated. The Prime Minister did not announce any financial project, as claimed in the viral clip, during this address.

Hence, we find that the viral “news report” featuring Shah Rukh Khan and PM Modi’s alleged unveiling of a financial project is manipulated using AI.
