Video shows police action against protesters chanting slogans against the administration in UP or Bihar.
Footage from a mock drill conducted by the police in Bokaro, Jharkhand, ahead of Dusshera.
A video showing police confronting protesters chanting slogans against the administration has gone viral on social media, with many users claiming it was shot in Uttar Pradesh while others alleged that it was from Bihar. Several posts praised the alleged police action, contrasting it with Nepal’s recent “GenZ protest,” and claimed that this clip showed how Indian police deal firmly with such agitations.

🔹 A reverse image search of the keyframes led to a YouTube video uploaded by Bokaro Ki Awaaj News on September 27, 2025, showing similar visuals. The video reported that Bokaro Police conducted a mock drill ahead of Durga Puja.
🔹 The official X handle of Bokaro Police posted about the same event on September 27, 2025, stating: “With regard to the upcoming Dussehra festival in 2025, a mock drill was conducted in the presence of the Superintendent of Police, Bokaro… Police personnel were trained to handle emergency and anti-riot situations.”

🔹 A comparison of keyframes from both the viral video and the police footage substantiated that they depict the same drill.

🔹Several media outlets reported the same, confirming it was part of the city’s festival preparedness exercise and not an actual protest or police action.
