Claim
First look of Alia Bhatt-Ranbir Kapoor’s newborn baby daughter.
Link to the Instagram post can be found here.
Fact
A Google reverse image search on the viral photograph led us to a blogpost in the website ‘Inspiralized.’ In the blog author Ali Maffucci shared the birth story of her identical twins Rio and Sol. It also carried a photograph of Maffucci holding her two sons which looked similar to the viral picture purportedly showing Alia Bhatt with her newborn.
On comparing Maffucci photo with the viral image claiming to show the “first look” of Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s daughter, we concluded them to be the same.
Notably, the original photograph showing Maffucci with her sons has been manipulated. Bhatt’s face has been digitally edited to place on Maffucci’s.
Further, we found that Alia Bhatt’s photograph has been lifted from a Pinterest post. The same can be seen here.
Actor couple Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor welcomed their first child on November 6. The actress took to Instagram to announce the birth of their daughter. By the time of publishing this article, the couple has not released any picture of their newborn.
We could thus conclude that the viral photograph claiming to show the “first look” of actress Alia Bhatt with her newborn daughter has been digitally altered.
